[Intl. Students] Hsinchu Foreigner Assistance Center to Open at the End of October

2008-10-02

A new service for Hsinchu area internationals is coming to town! The Hsinchu Foreigner Assistance Center is set for a grand opening towards the latter half of October 2008. It is a service center that will provide information for housing, food and dining, shopping, and medical service, as well as tourism and travel assistance. After the Foreigner Assistance Center is open for operation, available information will be made free to the public.

The Hsinchu City government has established the location of the Foreigner Assistance Center at 107 Chung Yang Rd., inside a three-story building near in proximity to City Hall, the Hsinchu Police Main Station, and other important administrative locations. As Taiwan marches on in the era of globalization, the Hsinchu Foreigner Assistance Center is an important milestone, as it is the first of its kind in this island nation, an exemplary model.

In the future, the city government has declared that the long-term planning of the Foreigner Assistance Center is not only beneficial to the growth of global perspective in the Hsinchu area, it will gradually provide more and more opportunities for outstanding university and college students to have internship experiences and train excellent ambassadors in international affairs. Students from National Tsing Hua University, National Chiao Tung University, Chung Hua University, Hsinchu Normal University, Hsuan Tsang University, and Yuan Pei Technical College are all great resources for nurturing and fostering talent in the international relations field.
